Croatia has signed an agreement with France for the purchase of 12 French Rafale fighter jets for its air force. Two Dassault Rafale F3R multipurpose jets flew over Zagreb after the two countries signed the agreement to celebrate the occasion.
In his speech, Macron also warned that the Schengen regime needed reform and that France would work on it in the first half of next year during its EU presidency.
Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković said his country would contribute to the reform process as a future member of the Schengen area.
The European Commission estimated in October 2019 that Croatia fulfills the criteria for membership of the Schengen area.
